Video Repair for iPhone and iPad
Privacy policy.
Effective 21 October 2026. Applies to the Video Repair app (bundle identifier com.kovallux.VideoRepair) published by Sergii Koval, Kovallux, Luxembourg. The website privacy policy covers this site.
In short: your videos never leave your device. Video Repair diagnoses, repairs and previews files entirely on your iPhone or iPad. The app does not upload, store or look at your footage anywhere else. It collects anonymous usage statistics and crash reports so we can improve the repair engine, and nothing more.
Your video files
Files you open in Video Repair are copied into the app's private storage on your device, analysed and repaired there, and exported only where you choose (Photos, Files, the share sheet). No part of a file, its name or its contents is ever transmitted to us or to any third party. The optional Wi‑Fi transfer feature runs a local server on your device that only accepts files from computers on the same network; it is off unless you turn it on and never connects to the internet.
Data we collect
To understand how the app performs we use Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) and RevenueCat (purchases). They receive:
Usage events: which screens are used, the damage class detected (for example “index missing”), the repair strategy, whether it succeeded, how long it took, and plan state (free, credits, unlimited). Events never contain file names, thumbnails, locations or any content of your videos.
Crash reports: stack traces and the device model and OS version when the app crashes.
Purchase information: App Store transaction identifiers and receipts, needed to deliver what you bought and restore it on your other devices. We never see your payment details; Apple handles payment.
A random app instance identifier generated on install, so that the statistics above can be counted per installation. It is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, and it is not used for advertising or tracking across apps and websites.
Video Repair does not ask for or use your contacts, location, microphone, camera, photos (other than saving a repaired video when you tap Export) or advertising identifier.
How it is used
Only to run the app, deliver purchases, fix crashes and improve the repair engine, for example by learning which damage classes fail most often. We do not sell data, do not use it for advertising and do not build profiles.
Third parties
Google Firebase (privacy) and RevenueCat (privacy) process the data above on our behalf as service providers. Apple processes payments under its own terms.
Retention and deletion
Repaired and imported files stay in the app's storage on your device until you delete the job or the app. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. To delete the app instance identifier and its data, delete the app or write to us through the contact form with the approximate install date and device model.
Children
Video Repair is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date above. Questions: contact form or Video Repair support.
